As part of the BOTTOMS-UP project, a Teledyne/RDI 600kHz 5 beam ADCP (VADCP) was installed near tower R2, in 26m of water. The VADCP team includes D. Savidge, A. Gargett (PIs), J. Amft, T. Moore and C. Smith. The unit has been operating at 1Hz since May 31, 2007. These data have undergone first-pass QA assessment (time interval check, gap fill, outlier removal) and are filtered with a 9 sec Butterworth filter. They are available for viewing by day below.
At the top of the page for each day, you will see day-long time series of mean water level, surface wave height and important meteorological parameters. These data are taken from the SABSOON Observatory tower R2 (J. Nelson), collected at 6 min intervals. Below the tower data plots are sets of 4 color-coded fields from consecutive VADCP files (each corresponding to roughly 2.0 hour), displayed as functions of H = height above bottom.
Individual panels display (top to bottom):
In each panel, a white curve denotes the surface height as identified in the verticalbeam amplitude field.
You are not yet offered a choice of scaling for the display of the water
